Promethazine is antihistamine, It is used for the treatment of allergic conditions such as hay fever or rashes (like nettle rash or hive) and to prevent nausea or vomiting (e.g. travel sickness). It has mild sedative (sleepiness) properties, therefore it is used to relax and sedate patients before and after surgery.
