Cimetidine belongs to the class of drugs called H2 blockers. It is used to prevent and treat ulcers. It's also used to manage symptoms of stomach and throat (esophagus) conditions like gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Zollinger-Ellison syndrome, and erosive esophagitis.
